About The Position

Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. We have served the Austin community for over 60-years and are proud of our history and tenured leadership team. Today, Texas NeuroRehab Center provides complex medical and brain injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neurobehavioral residential treatment services for children and adolescents. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges. Requirements

  • SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of medical rehabilitation and neuropsychiatric rehabilitation preferred.
  • EDUCATION: Bachelors of Science degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics. Completion of required dietetics coursework and supervised practice through a Didactic Program in Dietetics and Dietetic Internship, or Coordinated Program in Dietetics accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition
  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Driver’s License or State issued Id. Licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners. Registered or registration eligible by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • EXPERIENCE: Work experience in Dietetics, preferably in a hospital or rehabilitation setting. Experience with all age patients preferred.
  • PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to communicate both in writing and verbally. Emotional stability, vision, and hearing sufficient to perform essential job functions. Able to work in stressful situations with changing priorities. Able to traverse hospital ground via walking and use of motorized vehicle in order to attend meetings, obtain supplies, and communicate with other departments. Able to sit for extended periods of time. Able to write for extended periods of time. Regular and expected attendance. Able to physically restrain patients by individual or team restraint per policy.
