Provides clinical expertise and care related to nutritional support in an outpatient setting.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Service Management required upon hire OR Bachelor's degree or higher in Nutrition required upon hire OR Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
  • Dietitian - Licensed Dietitian in the state of Kentucky required within 120 days of employment in this position AND Heartsaver CPR AED required within 90 days of employment in this position OR BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position AND First-aid certification required within 90 days of employment in this position

Responsibilities

  • Conducts presentations to groups of all sizes regarding nutrition education and cooking classes.
  • Offers general and complex health management resources , nutrition education and support and meal planning for nutrition patients and groups.
  • Distributes education literature to patients.
  • Responsible for community programming and education regarding nutrition, weight management and healthy eating.
  • Manages and facilitates the weight management program for adults.
  • Provides nutrition education, support and training for patients and healthcare providers on the theories, principles, and practices of general and specialized nutritional support using the nutrition care process.
  • Represents Healthpark in community and throughout the organization as nutrition expert.
  • Writes articles for local newspapers, speaks to groups, and regularly speaks with media on topics related to food and nutrition.
  • Applies nutrition care process, a systematic approach to providing high quality nutrition care.
  • Develops and distributes nutrition education material to patients, employees, and the community.
  • Researches and applies trending nutrition science and applications.
  • Works collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team to manage care of patients.
  • Trains and acts as a mentor for dietetic interns.
  • Coordinates and facilitates children's weight management programing.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nutrition educational programs for patients, providers and members and the community.
