About The Position

The Dietitian (PRN) plays a critical role in delivering personalized nutritional care to patients across various healthcare settings on an as-needed basis. This position focuses on assessing patients' dietary needs, developing tailored nutrition plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support optimal health outcomes. The Dietitian will provide evidence-based guidance to patients and their families, ensuring that nutritional interventions align with medical treatments and individual preferences. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to meet fluctuating patient demands while maintaining high standards of care. Ultimately, the Dietitian contributes to improving patient wellness and recovery through expert nutritional management and education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited dietetic internship or supervised practice program.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Valid state licensure or certification to practice as a dietitian in the United States.
  • Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and clinical nutrition principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in acute care, long-term care, or outpatient clinical settings.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and nutrition analysis software.
  • Certification in specialized areas such as pediatric nutrition, renal nutrition, or oncology nutrition.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients with diverse medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on patient needs and clinical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into overall patient care.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding dietary modifications and healthy eating habits.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition plans as necessary to achieve desired health outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nutritional assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in dietetics to ensure evidence-based care.
