Overview Responsible for providing optimal nutritional care to patients. Maintains nutritional standards of care through assessing patients and implementing individualized nutrition care plans using the nutrition care process. Perform medical nutrition therapy for assigned patients to promote adequate growth and development. Work with multi-disciplinary team in providing optimal nutrition care to all patients. Serve as a liaison and assists in the communication between the hospital staff and the patient. If assigned to NICU, oversees the coordination of milk preparation to ensure accurate fortification and safety of feeds provided to patients and assists the Milk Lab ensuring accuracy and safety measures are met. Qualifications Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups Required Education: Bachelor's degree Preferred Education: Master's degree Required Licensure/Certifications: Dietetic Registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (ADA) required within 90 days of hire or transfer into the position. Licensed Dietitian by the State of Florida Department of Professional Regulation Dietetics/Nutrition Council required. Preferred Licensure/Certifications: BLS from the American Heart Association Required Experience: Less than one (1) year clinical experience in a health care setting. Preferred Experience: Neonatal Dietitian Necessary Skills: 1. Knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition 2. Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively both verbally and in writing 3. Ability to work independently 4. Demonstrates ability to use computer presentation software to present data in an accurate and well-organized format such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and other software programs
