The Dietitian Specialist 3 responsibilities include completing inpatient and outpatient nutritional assessments and reassessments for patients in specialty areas. Works collaboratively with health care team members to implement nutrition interventions and coordinates the nutrition care of the patient. Provides specialized nutrition education to patients/family members in individual and/or group setting, arranging for outpatient referral to specialty clinic if necessary. Attends and participates in patient care meetings, team meetings, and quality meetings as assigned. Provides in-services and lectures to clinical staff, and mentors clinical dietitians and other health care team members to improve performance standards, participates in educating dietetic and medical students and serves as a consultant for interns, residents, fellows and attending physicians. Performs other duties as needed.
