About The Position

Under the direction of the Clinical Nutrition Manager or Chief Clinical Dietitian, the Dietitian II is responsible for providing advanced medical nutrition therapy and care to patients with complex medical conditions in a large, fast-paced academic setting. Key responsibilities include performing comprehensive nutrition assessments and reassessments, developing individualized care plans, documenting in electronic health records, providing patient education, and implementing and monitoring nutrition interventions. This includes diagnosing malnutrition, conducting Nutrition-Focused Physical Exams (NFPE), managing therapeutic diets, nutrition education, and enteral/parenteral nutrition. Works with all ages, from patients in the NICU, to pediatrics, adult, and the geriatric patient population. The Dietitian II works collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, medical staff, ancillary staff, and food service personnel. The unit Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) works under the direct supervision of the unit RD II. The RD II also participates in department activities and meetings, including performance improvement initiatives. Salary Range: $81,348-107,302/year

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong proficiency in conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments, including interpreting lab results and evaluating patient medical history.
  • Skilled in nutritional-focused physical exams (NFPE) and accurate malnutrition diagnoses.
  • Expertise in Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) with a focus on evidence-based interventions for chronic disease management.
  • Ability to manage and optimize enteral nutrition (EN) and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) based on patient

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field preferred OR equivalent related experience.
