The position involves planning, developing, and providing diet interventions, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition care, and preventive counseling to individuals and groups in various care settings. The role includes providing medical nutrition therapy services and monitoring nutritional care of clients/patients/residents of all ages, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Responsibilities include determining nutritional status, creating individualized care plans, and implementing nutrition therapy, as well as educating clients on diet according to their medical conditions and health risks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in dietetics or food and nutrition from an ACEND accredited program.
  • Clinical nutrition experience through an approved coordinated undergraduate program or completion of a post-graduate internship.
  • Currently holds Registered Dietitian (RD) license within the applicable state(s).
  • Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Proof of a temporary/limited permit nutritionist license for registry eligible individuals waiting to test for their CDR.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, and provides diet interventions and medical nutrition therapy.
  • Monitors nutritional care of clients/patients/residents of all ages.
  • Determines nutritional status through assessment and creates individualized care plans.
  • Implements nutrition therapy including diet modification and nutrition support.
  • Educates and counsels clients on disease and nutrition risk management.
  • Evaluates outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions.
  • Works on nutrition care protocols and leads the healthcare team in implementing nutrition therapies.
  • Incorporates new trends and techniques into care plans.
  • Performs quality control and maintains infection control standards.
  • Participates in clinical performance improvement activities.
