About The Position

HCA HealthONE Presbyterian St. Lukes is seeking a Dietitian PRN to join their team. This role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients of all age groups and acuity levels. The position requires performing nutrition screenings and assessments, developing individualized nutritional plans, and providing nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families. The Dietitian will also adhere to nutrition care guidelines and integrate the Academy Code of Ethics in all areas of practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program required.
  • One to two years of hospital clinical nutrition experience preferred.
  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration required.
  • Licensed by the State department of Licensing and Regulation if required by state, must obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Food Handlers permit preferred.
  • Obtain 75 CEUs within a 5-year period to meet CDR professional portfolio requirements required.
  • Employment in this position is contingent upon continued registration and licensure as a dietitian required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform timely nutrition screenings and assessments in accordance with the Corporate Screening and Assessment Policy.
  • Perform nutrition focused physical exams on patients who are at nutritional risk.
  • Identify patients at nutritional risk based on established criteria.
  • Evaluate age-specific, developmental, and disease-specific nutritional needs of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized nutritional plan of care.
  • Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions.
  • Identify patient nutrition education needs and provide nutrition counseling to patients, family, and/or caregivers.
  • Participate in the competency assessment process and achieve a passing score of 80% or higher on RD chart audits.
  • Adhere to nutrition care guidelines, the nutrition care manual, department/facility guidelines and/or protocols to provide evidence-based nutrition care.
  • Integrate the Academy Code of Ethics in all areas of practice.
