Requirements

  • Master's degree in Food and Nutrition, or related field (or Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition of related field with Internship completed before 12/31/2023).
  • Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Washington State Certified Dietitian (CD) - (may apply upon hire).
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and Washington State Food Handlers Permit.
  • WA DOH Medical Assistant Registered License (apply after hire).
  • Must be proficient with Windows navigation, Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of acute care and/or outpatient medical nutrition therapy.
  • Masters degree.
  • Advanced/Board Certification.
  • Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or ASPEN registration.
  • Software/Platform Skills: Electronic Medical Records experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with members of the health care team to provide inpatient or outpatient medical nutrition therapy for all ages.
  • Assess nutrition needs and identify nutrient requirement specific to disease state and patient age.
  • Perform self-management education; including diet, exercise, healthy lifestyles, and wellness.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the stages of change in relation to behavior modification and nutrition.
  • Participate in and run nutrition education classes.
  • Utilize community resources and programs to assist patients in their path of care.
  • Complete chart notes per organizational policy, with applicable billing codes.
  • Travel to outlying clinics, and/or use Telehealth to provide services as needed.
  • May include inpatient clinical nutrition.
  • Ability to function independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.
  • Participates in LEAN performance improvement and research activities.
  • Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.
