About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian for a full time inpatient position with Methodist Hospitals at our Southlake Campus in Merrilville, IN. Merrilville, a suburb of Chicago, offers miles of Lake Michigan beaches and hiking trails and is known for beautiful fall colors and breathtaking Lake Michigan sunsets. Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian credential and licensure in Indiana
  • Excellent communication, leadership and customer service skills
  • Ability to work well with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff
  • Strong commitment to excellence in all aspects of patient care
  • Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice
  • Minimum Management Experience: 7+ months general supervision
  • Minimum Functional Experience: 3 years experienced specialized practitioner in a clinical specialty

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional nutrition care to patients on inpatient units (may include med/surg, rehab, and/or obstetrics)
  • Work rotating weekends and holidays providing coverage of all inpatient units
  • Participate in departmental tasks, including meal rounds and safety audits, as assigned
  • Be knowledgeable of the Nutrition Care Process
  • Efficiently and effectively organize clinical nutrition and patient care responsibilities
