About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Dietitian Nutritionist II for a part time (16-24 hours) inpatient position at Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights, TX, located 75 miles north of Austin. Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital opened in 2012 in Harker Heights, Texas offering an array of services such as a Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated Emergency Room, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more. Position offers excellent benefits with hourly rate of $30.00-$38.00 per hour.

Requirements

  • Be a Registered Dietitian and demonstrate a great clinical knowledge base
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership and customer service skills
  • Have a strong commitment to excellence in all aspects of patient care
  • Licensed in Texas
  • Minimum Education Requirement: Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice
  • Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on inpatient units
  • Assist with day-to-day management of Food & Nutrition Services
  • Provide training and education to department staff and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
  • Be the primary liaison with medical and nursing staff and represent the department on hospital wide committees
  • Serve in a leadership role on the Food and Nutrition Services team and assist in food service management as needed
