About The Position

Requirements

• A Registered Dietitian credential with prior experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• The ability to work independently and to be outcome focused
• Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
• For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
• Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire
• Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutrition care and patient assessments to the inpatient population with a variety of disease states
• Educate patients and family members and facility staff in concepts of nutrition and diet modifications
• Work in all areas of the hospital with the clinical RD team
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing, and ancillary staff as part of a team
