Position Reports To: Food Services Director

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition, or related field (or Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition of related field with Internship completed before 12/31/2023).
  • Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (must be attained within 4 months of hire for new graduates).
  • Washington State Certified Dietitian (CD) - (may apply upon hire)
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and Washington State Food Handlers Permit
  • WA DOH Medical Assistant Registered License (apply after hire)
  • Must be proficient with Windows navigation, Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of acute care and/or outpatient medical nutrition therapy
  • Masters degree
  • Advanced/Board Certification
  • Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or ASPEN registration
  • Software/Platform Skills: Electronic Medical Records experience

Responsibilities

  • Assess nutrition needs and identifies nutrient requirements specific to disease state and age.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the stages of change in relation to behavior modification and nutrition.
  • Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy intervention. Fosters continuity of care across the continuum of care.
  • Provides nutritional care and education to patients/family in assigned area in a timely fashion according to standard policies and procedures.
  • Works closely with interdisciplinary team members to provide quality nutrition care to patients.
  • Teaches Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab classes, community education classes, and staff education. May include cooking classes and multimedia venues.
  • Complete chart notes per organizational policy.
  • May include Rehab or Outpatient nutrition.
  • Participates in LEAN performance improvement and research activities.
  • Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.
