About The Position

We are looking to add a Dietician to our amazing Keystone team! Keystone Treatment Center is a 126 Bed Treatment Center providing services to adults on an inpatient basis. Keystone is located in Canton SD, just a short drive from Sioux Falls, SD. PURPOSE STATEMENT: Serve as expert in the use of food and nutrition to promote health and manage disease . WHO ARE WE Established in 1973, Keystone Treatment Center has excelled in providing comprehensive individualized care for individuals who are suffering with Chemical Dependency, Compulsive Gambling and Co-occurring Mental Health Conditions. We are a nationally recognized and respected treatment center that offers both inpatient and outpatient treatment in an atmosphere of Trust, Honesty and Responsibility . Keystone is proud to offer a full continuum of recovery services including Assessments, Medical Detoxification, Rehabilitation, and Continuing care. Services are grounded in the 12 Steps of Recovery and a number of evidenced based therapeutic interventions that are designed to meet the unique needs of the patients who are entrusted in our care. SHIFTS AND HOURS Flexable 20 - 25 hours/month This would include 1x/week (lecture, educational with kitchen staff, meeting with patients, consulting with physicians/nurses- or even education for the nursing staff).

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited University in Dietetics, Nutrition or similar field acceptable for licensure .
Current registered dietician or registration as required by state or eligible for endorsement by the state in which the facility provides services .
ServSafe certification or similar food safety certification where required by the state or facility.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Eating Disorders and Substance use strongly preferred in facilities working with those patient populations .

Responsibilities

Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling.
Approve patient menus and nutritional supplements.
Advise patients and their families on nutriti onal principles, dietary plans, diet modifications and food selection and preparation.
Provide nutritional assessments per facility policy and regulation.
Review and approve menus developed by the facility.
Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient .
Participate in treatment team as appropriate .
Review and approve facility diet manual annually in conjunction with medical staff.
Promote better health by speaking to groups about diet, nutrition and the relationship between good eating habits and preventing or managing specific diseases.
Monitor food service operations to ensure conformance to nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards as needed.
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
