About The Position

The McGuire Group's Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Williamsville, NY, is seeking a Dietician Technician. This role involves obtaining all necessary information for nutritional care planning, interviewing new admissions for dietary history, and recording all relevant information. The Dietician Technician writes monthly progress notes on appropriate residents, ensures care plans are implemented, and evaluates the effectiveness of dietary interventions. They also monitor meal intakes on all residents, calculate food intakes when necessary, verify physician diet orders or changes, and document these in the medical record.

Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age
• No findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment and misappropriation of property
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Expertise and experience required for the task
• Demonstrated ability in management, leadership and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Maintains records under the direct guidance and direction of the Dietician to include: patient/resident progress notes (90 day and as indicated), transfer/discharge summaries, monitoring of lab work, weights, skin integrity, intake studies, and meal plan updates.
• Continually counsels and educates the patients/residents, family members, facility personnel or proper therapeutic and basic nutrition in conjunction with the Registered Dietician.
• Evaluates diet histories and reviews nourishment and supplement records.
• Develops, reviews, and updates comprehensive care plans on a continual basis to reflect the current needs of the patient/resident.
• Maintains weight records.
• Supervises/observes dining room meal service in a timely and appropriate manner to provide high quality dietary service to patients/residents.
• Monitors breakfast, dinner, and supper meal consumption and consistency appropriateness.
• Monitors tube feeding documentation records with Dietician.
• Makes appropriate referrals to OT, Speech Therapist, Dentist, and Nursing.
• Performs all other duties assigned by the Dietician.
