About The Position

The Dietician I PD position at Kaiser Permanente involves providing nutrition education and clinical services in accordance with established guidelines. The role focuses on assessing member needs, developing nutrition care plans, and implementing health and nutrition education programs. The dietician will work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care and improve member health outcomes.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in providing health education services (usually 1 year) and/or hospital experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Food/Nutrition or related field.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
  • Registered Dietitian within six (6) months of hire.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of mainframe and personal computing systems.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership Environment.

Responsibilities

  • Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable laws.
  • Participates in establishing department strategic goals and priorities.
  • Assesses member needs and designs, develops, and evaluates health/nutrition education programs.
  • Plans and evaluates community events and coordinates community resources.
  • Implements nutrition care plans and provides follow-up referrals for continuity of care.
  • Educates and counsels members and caregivers regarding health and nutrition.
  • Develops meal plans tailored to members' lifestyles and backgrounds.
  • Consults with physicians and healthcare providers on nutrition-related issues.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary care teams and committees.
  • Collects data and prepares reports for performance improvement and quality assurance.
  • Develops grants and proposals for health/nutrition programs.
  • Plans and conducts in-service education programs for staff and care teams.
  • Provides high-quality, evidence-based Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT).
  • Develops and monitors ongoing care plans based on patient assessments.
