About The Position

Are you a Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) or individual with 4-year nutrition degree? Job Summary:
UPMC Presbyterian is a large teaching hospital located in Oakland, a neighborhood in Pittsburgh. We care for a variety of adult patients, including Transplant, Trauma, Cardiac, and Neurology- just to name a few! As a part of inpatient team of skilled Dietitians and Diet Technicians, you will provide quality nutrition care to hospitalized patients. Working Hours: 40 hours within a 2-week pay period with flexible scheduling and start time, rotating weekends and holidays

Requirements

• BS in Nutrition/Dietetics - Dietetics Tract OR Associates Degree, completion of DTR exam required within 3 months of hire.
• For associate degree, DTR required.
• Completion of 5-10 CEU annually/50 CEU every 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs nutrition screening of patients and accurately assesses nutrition risk levels per established criteria.
• Provide direct patient care using Medical Nutrition Therapy to assess patients and develop goals and a plan of care.
• Provide appropriate nutrition education.
• Assists with the education, mentoring, and training of dietetic students/intern and new associates.
• Accountable as nutrition liaison/expert to assigned units & participate as a member of interdisciplinary committees and projects.
• Participate in department Quality Process Improvement activities.
