Dietary Technician (NDTR/Diet Tech) – Full-Time, Onsite The Center at CenterPlace – Greeley, CO Why Join Us? Position Summary The Dietary Technician (Diet Tech) supports the clinical nutrition program at The Center at CenterPlace by assisting with resident nutritional assessments, care planning, and ongoing monitoring under the oversight of a consulting Registered Dietitian (RD) and the IDT. This position does not replace the role of a licensed RD. This is a full-time, salaried, onsite position with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, resident-centered care, and interdisciplinary collaboration within a skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting.

Requirements

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), Dietetic Technician Registered (NDTR), or equivalent experience in a healthcare nutrition setting
  • Knowledge of and continued dedication to remain up-to-date with long-term care regulations and nutritional standards
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to work onsite and collaborate in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft office applications, electronic medical record & diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF)
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Understanding of MDS and care planning processes

Responsibilities

  • Assist in completing nutrition assessments, including gathering resident data, weights, intake, and diet history
  • Monitor residents at nutritional risk and report changes to the RD and nursing team
  • Participate in development and updates of care plans related to nutrition
  • Conduct meal rounds and resident interviews to evaluate satisfaction and intake
  • Track and follow up on weight changes, skin integrity concerns, and hydration status
  • Lead/attend weekly NAR meetings alongside the RD and wound nurse
  • Complies with all regulatory standards to include federal, state, and accrediting agencies, while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPPA regulations, and patient rights policies
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with CMS, state, and facility guidelines
  • Support compliance with F-tags related to nutrition, hydration, and food service (e.g., F692, F693, F800 series)
  • Assist in preparation for state surveys and audits
  • Participate in Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives related to nutrition services
  • Work closely with nursing, therapy, and dietary staff to ensure coordinated resident care
  • Communicate changes in resident condition related to nutrition
  • Attend morning rounds and meetings, care conferences and IDT meetings as assigned
  • Participate in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, Plans of Correction (POCs) and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs
  • Collaborate with Dietary Manager and kitchen staff to ensure diet accuracy and meal quality
  • Support resolution of tray accuracy issues and special diet needs
  • Assist in monitoring meal service and dining experience
  • Assist patients in completing menu selections
