About The Position

At Liberty Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services, we promote a challenging, but rewarding opportunity in a caring environment. We are currently seeking an experienced Dietary Services Director. The role involves assuring quality dietary services by directing, coordinating, and supervising Dietary Services staff. The Dietary Services Director will assume responsibility in accordance with local, state, and federal sanitation and other laws regulating food service, as well as Facility policies and procedures. This position coordinates food service to ensure patients receive nutritious, attractively served diets as ordered by their attending physician in accordance with the approved corporate menu cycle. The director participates in Care Plans & MDS conferences, completes nutritional assessments and dietary sections of MDS, prepares and monitors work schedules for dietary services staff, and monitors the orientation and training of dietary services employees per Facility policy. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a Dietary Manager Training program approved by the Dietary Managers Association.
  • Pass the National Certification exam.
  • Keep current certification by attending seminars and/or workshops, completing at least 45 hours every three years.
  • Knowledgeable of cost accounting, record keeping, budget planning, menu planning, diet therapy, and purchasing procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience with MDS and ability to assess nutritional needs of residents.
  • Leadership ability and organizational skills.
  • Read, know and follow personnel, department and Facility procedures.
  • Comply with DMA Code of Ethics and Standards of Performance.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, coordinate, and supervise Dietary Services staff.

  • Coordinate food service to ensure patients receive nutritious diets as ordered.
  • Participate in Care Plans & MDS conferences.

  • Monitor the orientation and training of dietary services employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
