About The Position

The primary purpose of your job position is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Head Cook and/or Director of Food Services, to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent .
Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities .
Ability to understand and follow written or verbal instructions.
Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
Skilled in preparing meals according to instructions
Apt in operating cookware, bakeware and cooking appliances
Must have excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills .
Possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, Residents, families, and visitors.
Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be flexible to work varied schedule based on special events , emergencies, programs , and trips.

Nice To Haves

One (1) year food experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred (but not necessary).

Responsibilities

Coordinate food preparation and meal service.
Plan and initiate cooking schedule for food preparation to meet meal schedule.
Prepare, season, cook and serve for assigned meal; ensure appropriate portioned servings according to portion control standards.
Prepare nutritional snacks for clients as directed by Dietary Manager.
Determine amount and type of food and supplies as for daily menus.
Clean equipment and work areas as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
Maintains compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
Perform other department duties assigned by the Dietary Manager.
