We are seeking a dedicated Dietary Manager to oversee the dietary department at our facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the dietary needs of our residents, ensuring proper nutrition and adherence to care plans. This role involves planning, coordinating, and directing purchasing, food planning, preparation, and serving. The Dietary Manager will maintain sanitary standards in the preparation areas, kitchen, serving, and dining areas of the facility. Collaboration with the Dietitian or clinical leadership is essential to plan menus that are varied, nutritionally balanced, and appetizing. The Dietary Manager will review, plan menus, and prepare projected menu plans while interpreting recipes, modified diet plans, and proper portion control in accordance with approved policy or clinical direction. Staff management is a key responsibility, including hiring, development, training, performance management, and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation. The role also requires analyzing food costs and assisting with departmental budget issues. In addition, the Dietary Manager will orient, train, and coach team members on operational guidelines, organizational policies, and procedures. They will manage the dietary department, including menu planning and food preparation, supervise staff in the kitchen and dining areas, conduct patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine appropriate dietary plans, and implement and oversee tube feeding protocols as needed. Collaboration with healthcare providers to ensure dietary requirements are met and maintaining accurate records of food supplies and expenses are also part of the job. Other functions and tasks may be assigned as necessary.
