About The Position

Responsibilities/Duties: Monitors department workflow during assigned shifts, ensuring completion of essential tasks. Enforces compliance with organization and department policies, processes, and procedures Document staff absences/incidents during assigned shifts. Assists with onboarding and training of new and existing team members Serves as a resource to department staff for questions or problems, and escalates as necessary. Provides department leadership with input regarding areas of deficiency and recommended corrective actions. Share and support organizational and departmental goals and communications Leads by example and promotes STAR standards in all interactions Department Specific Responsibilities/Duties: Lead the Cooks, Dishwashers, and Cafeteria Staff to ensure daily tasks are completed on time and meals are served at the scheduled times. Implement the provided menus. Ensure the high quality of the food served. Comply with all food handling, cleaning, and safety regulations. Assure proper labeling and storage of food products. Work with the Director to ensure all mandatory Relias training is completed for the Team. Education/Experience: 1-2 years of experience in the department or similar roles preferred High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Preferred Certification in Dietary Management in the first 12 months. Professional Skills & Expectations: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities, effectively monitor performance objectives, work, and make decisions under pressure, and meet deadlines, goals, and objectives as set forth. Maintains regulatory requirements. Actively participates in the department's performance improvement activities, as requested Complies with all the organization's policies. Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the facility. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Professionalism and strong work ethic Strong leadership skills Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions: Must be able to move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces. Ability to occasionally move objects up to 20 pounds. Ability to operate kitchen equipment. Ability to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day. Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job. Requirements
