Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3 years Food Service experience
  • Lift over 50 lbs.
  • Push/pull up to 140 lbs.
  • Carry 80 lbs. short distances.
  • Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in interviews, hiring, disciplines, and evals of employees.
  • Ensures that all foods are at the proper serving temperature prior to service for patient and cafeteria foods.
  • Complies with all regulatory standards as set by the State, JCAHO, etc. in regards to hospital dietary services.
  • Ensures patient satisfaction and safety of cooked food products by complying with HACCP time/temperature principles.
  • Provides suggestions or alternatives to improve the department's service and production goals.
  • Oversees and participates in kitchen activities of food prep and sanitation.
  • Provides monthly QA audits - accuracy and check on units.
  • Administers set-up, deliveries, and clean-up of catered events.
  • Reports any defective equipment to the management team.
  • Verifies employee duties are completed in dishwasher, pot washer, production, and cafeteria areas.
