About The Position

The Dietary Cook will be responsible for day to day operations of the hospital dietary processes and in addition will help assist with the local outsourced meal process. Schedule is Monday through Friday but may include weekend time as well if needed. Under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, (The Unity Bill) this position is considered a Safety-sensitive position. Safety-sensitive is defined to include any job that includes tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others. Employees working in safety-sensitive roles are subject to this exception and subject to disciplinary action in the event of a positive test for marijuana or its metabolites.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with team.
  • Ability to follow simple direction or instruction.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • High school graduate or equivalency.
  • English is the primary language.
  • Ability to use basic mathematic formulas.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate between hospital departments and local resource.
  • Help provide meals for two monthly meetings at the hospital as needed (Medical staff and Ministerial Alliance
  • Will oversee keeping inventory stock as well as rotating and cleaning.
  • Keep nourishment room stocked.
  • Assist with COVID-19 screening testing as needed.
  • Maintain high safety and food safety sanitation standards.
  • Will create forms & logs as necessary.
  • Will document within electronic medical record as needed.
  • Taking temperatures of meal trays upon arrival to facility and document in appropriate log.
  • Creating weekly menus and assisting with diet reports.
  • Submitting information to quality as needed.
  • Attending departmental meetings as requested
  • Take on additional tasks delegated by supervisor or administration
  • Comply with HIPAA regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to the hospitals philosophy, mission, and policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a good attendance record.
  • Adhere to dress code.
  • Establishes and maintains excellent interdepartmental and interpersonal relationships.
  • Will require personal vehicle with current license and registration for transportation.
