About The Position

Rossmoor Post Acute is seeking a dedicated and reliable Dietary Cook to join our team part-time. The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals for residents in accordance with dietary guidelines, physician orders, and facility standards. This role plays a vital part in supporting resident health, satisfaction, and overall well-being. PACS is revolutionizing the delivery and leadership of post-acute healthcare and support services across the country. Originally founded in 2013, the organization now consists of hundreds of independent operating subsidiaries, as well as ancillary and support services. Requirements

  • Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, or food service setting preferred
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets is a plus
  • Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Strong attention to detail and food safety practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, or food service setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals following planned menus and dietary requirements
  • Ensure food is prepared in accordance with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Modify meals to accommodate special diets (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, texture-modified)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
  • Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed
  • Properly store food and label items to ensure freshness and compliance
  • Collaborate with dietary staff and healthcare team to meet resident needs
  • Assist with meal service and portion control as required
