About The Position

The Dietary Cook plays a critical role in preparing nutritious and appetizing meals tailored to meet the dietary needs of residents in a long-term care facility. Requirements

  • Proven experience in quantity and quality cooking within a long-term care or similar facility.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards and safe food handling practices.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand instructions related to diet therapy and food preparation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by the facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training or certification in dietetics, nutrition, or culinary arts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals in accordance with prescribed diet therapy plans and facility standards.
  • Maintain strict sanitation and hygiene practices in all food preparation and kitchen areas.

  • Manage quantity and quality of food production to meet the demands of the long-term care facility.
