Dietary Cook - Full Time Optalis Healthcare – Leonard Location: 1700 Leonard St NE Grand Rapids, MI 49505 Shifts: Full Time AM Days Our Cooks prepare nourishing meals for our residents and ensure the highest quality of standards of food service. Cooks work closely with the Dietary Manager to create and review menu items that meet the nutrition needs of each individual resident. Job Tasks include, but are not limited to: Follow recipes and prepare foods that correspond to menu cycles prepared by the dietary manager and dietitian, including therapeutic and modified consistency diets. Cook or prepare delicious, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in institutional quantities of supplies & equipment. Ensure meals are appealing, appetizing and nutritionally sound. Work on tray line or in dining rooms serving meals to residents. Does needed preparation of foods for the following day’s menu. Maintain sanitation standards as defined by facility policy and procedure while in the prep areas of the kitchen as well as the dish room. Communicates with Dietary Manager throughout shift as needed to best meet needs of residents. Attend required staff in-services.
