About The Position

The Cook position is part of the Dietary Department, working approximately 75 hours per two-week pay period. Includes weekend and holiday rotations, with hours that may flex based on department needs. The Cook plays an essential role in preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors. Flexibility is important, as hours may vary depending on departmental needs. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Coursework in food preparation, sanitation, and cooking methods is a plus
  • Previous experience in large-scale food preparation (restaurant, school, or healthcare setting) preferred
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain ServSafe Certification
  • Strong initiative, enthusiasm, and professional presence
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a focus on customer service and confidentiality

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals for patients, staff, and cafeteria service
  • Assist with catering and special events as directed by the Food Service Director
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times
  • Perform additional dietary duties as assigned
  • Serve as lead cook when the Food Service Director is not present
