About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Dietary Cook is to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The cook reports directly to the Dietary Supervisor. Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain a ServSafe Certificate.
  • Must remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with PCC is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean, and sanitary manner.
  • Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
  • Follow prepared menus and portion control guides accurately.
  • Prepare special diets according to nutrition requirements.
  • Record food temperatures for meals.
  • Prepare pureed foods as needed.
  • Collaborate harmoniously with personnel in all departments.
  • Maintain quaternary solution in sanitizer buckets.
  • Assist with serving different meals to residents.
  • Clean the cooking area and serving carts.
  • Report resident care concerns and potential issues to the Administrator and/or Director of Nurses.
  • Participate in the orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
  • Ensure the presentation of food is appealing to the residents.
  • Supervise staff and work collaboratively under supervision.
  • Ensure all cleaning schedules are followed.
