About The Position

University Behavioral Health of Denton is a private freestanding psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health and chemical dependency care. Serving North Texas and surrounding areas, UBH Denton has provided a range of programs treating mental health illnesses and substance abuse issues since 2005. Our inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services offer supportive and compassionate care for adolescents and adults with specialty programs that are tailored to meet the needs of our patients. Position Summary: The Dietary Cook/Aide is responsible for the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for patients and facility staff according to the approved menu cycle and production sheets. Assisting with preparing the salad bar, maintaining an adequate supply of beverages, ensuring the cafeteria and dining room remain clean at all times, assisting in the preparation and delivery of patient meals and room supplies, operating the dish machine, and stocking kitchen necessities on each floor as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in quantity cooking, basic knowledge of modified diets; training in food service sanitation preferred.
  • Experience utilizing industrial kitchen equipment and utensils; and some prior kitchen supervisory experience helpful.
  • Food Service Manager Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Open the kitchen and ensure organization of daily events.
  • Comply with facility and departmental policies and procedures regarding food services offered.
  • Follow menus and recipes as provided by the Dietary Manager & Dietician.
  • Prepare meals and beverages according to menu cycle and daily production sheet, providing attention to attractive and tasteful meals.
  • Accurately prepare food for modified diets, consulting with Dietician as required.
