About The Position
DIETARY AIDES - - Applewood, Matteson, IL Generations at Applewood in Matteson, Illinois, has Immediate Openings for Dietary Aides. Position available is Full-time. Rate: $16.00 per hour! Hours are: 1:30p-9:00p - days may vary and will be worked out with the Food Service manager. Every other Weekend is required. We are offering a great opportunity for those who are interested in a culinary career. You'll be a Dietary Aide but learning from a professional chef. You'll be learning by doing multiple functions within our dietary department: prepping, plating, passing trays, dishwashing all the while being mentored by someone with years of culinary experience. Requirements
- Previous dietary experience in a healthcare facility preferred - NOT Fast Food
- Must be 18 years or older
- Basic awareness/knowledge of sanitation practices as it relates to food preparation
- Ability to read, speak and understand English
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must have compassion and tolerance for older adults
- Deliver excellent customer service with a smile!
- Must be deemed eligible to work in healthcare by IDPH; May require fingerprinting. No Waivers accepted.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and service of food and beverages for residents as assigned
- Coordinate daily dietary services with the nursing staff
- Read and interpret Diet Cards
- Deliver food to residents' rooms
- Set up/take down dining areas
- May take inventory of food and supplies
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized and safe
- Dishwashing and other tasks as assigned
