The Dietary Aide (dishwasher) is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen at our long-term care facility. This role supports the dietary team by maintaining a clean and safe dining environment and providing excellent customer service to residents and patients. Key Responsibilities: Dietary Compliance: Responsibilities Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils thoroughly to maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. Assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness by sanitizing equipment, workstations, and dining areas. Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Dispose of waste and recycle materials as needed. Interact positively with residents, staff, and guests, providing excellent customer service. Perform other duties as assigned. Follow dietary instructions for residents or patients with specific medical needs, ensuring that meals meet their nutritional requirements. Ensure proper portion sizes and follow meal plans to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences. Sanitation and Safety: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, cleaning tables, and sanitizing equipment. Follow all food safety regulations and facility policies to ensure a clean and safe environment for food preparation and service. Ensure that kitchen and dining areas meet local, state, and federal food safety regulations. Inventory and Supplies: Assist in maintaining and restocking food supplies, condiments, and utensils as needed. Monitor inventory levels and notify the dietary supervisor when supplies need to be ordered. Resident and Patient Interaction: Provide excellent customer service to residents, patients, and families, responding to questions and special requests promptly and courteously. Help residents and patients with meal-related needs, such as serving beverages, providing additional utensils, or addressing dietary concerns. Team Collaboration: Work closely with cooks, dietary aides and supervisors, and other kitchen staff to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of meal service. Assist with kitchen duties, including food preparation and setup for meals.
