You will enjoy being part of a great team in a fun, engaging work environment! Who you are: Valid Washington State Food Handler’s Permit Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple math. Ability to understand simple measurements and conversions. Ability to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards. Ability to work in close cooperation with our residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires empathy for older adults. General Summary: The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus.

Requirements

  • Valid Washington State Food Handler’s Permit
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple math.
  • Ability to understand simple measurements and conversions.
  • Ability to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards.
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with our residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers.
  • Requires empathy for older adults.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare therapeutic desserts and salads as required.
  • Serve meals in our health center.
  • Set up tables in the health center dining room and breaks down same after the meal.
  • Transport hot and cold foods to and from the health center
  • Maintains station equipment and work area in a safe and sanitary condition.
  • Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
  • Attends in-service training and educations as assigned.
  • Performs other specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
