The Dietary Aide's assignments are determined by the needs of the shift. This role reports to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor. The position involves learning food service routines quickly, setting up meal trays, stripping returned trays, washing dishes, assisting with serving meals, checking and recording dishwashing machine parameters, operating the dishwasher, preparing nourishments and snacks, cleaning the kitchen, carrying out trash, putting away groceries, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen. The aide also participates in staff training and must work cooperatively with personnel across departments.
