About The Position

Position Overview As a Dietary Aide, you play an important role in creating a positive dining experience for those we serve. You’ll work alongside our kitchen team to prepare, serve, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, teamwork, and contributing to the well-being of others. You will report directly to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor, supporting daily kitchen operations based on shift needs.

Requirements

• Ability to quickly learn kitchen routines and food service procedures
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
• Willingness to help wherever needed
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to read recipes and follow basic instructions
• Basic math skills (fractions, measurements, etc.)
• Food Handler’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Standing and walking for most of the shift
• Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
• Frequent bending, reaching, and movement
• Working in a kitchen environment with moderate noise levels

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up meal trays with accuracy and care
• Assist in serving meals and snacks to residents or guests
• Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Operate and monitor the dishwasher to ensure proper sanitation standards
• Check and record dish machine temperatures and sanitizer levels
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas
• Properly store incoming groceries and supplies
• Take out trash and maintain a clean, organized workspace
• Support the kitchen team as needed and help ensure smooth daily operations
• Participate in training and ongoing development opportunities
