About The Position

The Dietary Aide, also referred to as a Patient Ambassador, is a full-time position at Crossroads Community Hospital (Deaconess Illinois Crossroads, Mt. Vernon IL). This role is crucial for ensuring that each patient receives accurate meals that match their order and specific diet requirements. Key responsibilities include providing excellent customer service to all patients, managing the timely delivery and collection of patient menus, and preparing various cold and hot food items and condiments for mealtimes. The Dietary Aide is also responsible for meal tray service, which encompasses delivery, collection, and thorough cleaning of all dining equipment. Adherence to the facility’s health and safety policies and procedures is mandatory, and the aide is expected to assist team members and management to ensure the department operates efficiently. HHS, the employer, is a private, family-owned business established in 1975, dedicated to team member care and quality customer service. HHS provides support services, including housekeeping, food, and facility management, to nearly 1,000 customers across six industries, including healthcare.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must practice good personal hygiene and be neatly groomed in a uniform
  • Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment
  • Applicants must pass a background check
  • Applicants must pass a drug screen
  • Provide proof of employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Many healthcare facilities require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption in place
