About the Role We are looking for a dependable and team-oriented Dietary Aide to support our kitchen and dining services in a warm, resident-centered assisted living community. This role is essential in helping us provide safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meals for our residents while maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to learn food service routines quickly
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and technical procedures
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others
  • Basic math skills (fractions, measurements, ratios)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must obtain and maintain a Food Handler’s Certificate
  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Frequent reaching, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, or climbing
  • Ability to see clearly (near and far), hear, and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

  • Set up meal trays and assist with meal service
  • Clear and strip returned trays and operate the dishwasher
  • Monitor and record dishwasher water temperature and chlorine levels
  • Prepare snacks and nourishments for residents
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including: Washing dishes and cleaning work surfaces Sweeping and mopping floors Cleaning refrigerators Taking out trash and garbage
  • Safely store groceries and supplies
  • Assist cooks and dietary supervisors as needed
  • Leave the kitchen clean, sanitary, and well-organized at the end of each shift
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing training
  • Work cooperatively with team members across all departments
