Position Overview: The Dietary Aide a ssembles and delivers patient meals, conducts proper washing and sanitizing of dishes using a dish machine, collects and delivers nutrition supplies to hospital units. Aides may also work in retail food outlets, preparing and serving food to employees, guests and visitors. Payment processing and cash handling are required in retail locations. All employees may assist with catering functions, as needed. Work collaboratively to provide exceptional food and service to all patients, visitors, guests and employees, while meeting all regulatory requirements put forth by local, state and federal agencies.

Requirements

  • Education - High School Diploma or GED, or appropriate working papers for minor's
  • Experience - Not required
  • Licensure - Not required

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years' experience in food service or a healthcare environment

Responsibilities

  • Assemble patient meals using proper portion control and being aware of allergens
  • Use dish machine for properly washing and sanitizing dishes and utensils
  • Ensure patient/family satisfaction through excellent customer service and quality meal production
  • Manage nutritional supplies on units
  • Maintain a clean facility throughout service
  • Maintain departmental policies and procedures of clinical care in accordance with regulatory agencies
  • Effective Communication and demonstration of team-based management.
  • Is flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities, not noted above.
