The Dietary Aide's responsibilities are based on the needs of the shift. This role reports to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor. Quickly learn food service routines. Set up meal trays and assist with serving meals. Strip down and wash returned trays. Check and record the chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the start of the shift. Monitor the water temperatures during dishwashing cycles. Operate the dishwasher efficiently. Prepare nourishments and snacks as needed. Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen floors. Remove trash and dispose of garbage properly. Organize and store groceries in a clean and safe manner. Ensure the kitchen is left clean and sanitary. Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and other kitchen areas. Assist the Cook or Dietary Supervisor as needed. Participate in the orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff. Work effectively with personnel in all departments.
