About The Position

The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing, serving, and ensuring the quality of food items for patients, team members, and visitors. This role involves working in food service storerooms, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining compliance with food safety standards. The Dietary Aide interacts positively with colleagues and customers, ensuring a pleasant dining experience while adhering to proper food handling procedures.

Requirements

• Equivalent to a High School diploma or GED; basic employment skills required.
• Knowledge and experience in a specialized field equivalent to an Associate's degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of food service operations and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of food items for patients and visitors.
• Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Brew coffee and tea, and restock items as necessary.
• Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment according to regulatory rules.
• Assist in the preparation of hot and cold foods, ensuring proper storage and temperature control.
• Reconcile cash drawer at the end of the shift, ensuring all sales are recorded accurately.
• Set up entrees, soups, salads, and other food products for service.
• Interact with customers in serving and dining areas, providing excellent customer service.
• Replenish food, beverages, and supplies in the work area as needed.
• Operate kitchen retail equipment to serve food and beverages.
• Follow first-in, first-out method for stock rotation and adhere to food safety standards.
• Serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables, breaking down stations after meal periods.
• Assist in training new food service team members and provide ongoing customer service training.
