The Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in supporting the dietary services of the healthcare facility by preparing and serving meals to patients, staff, and guests. This position involves ensuring compliance with health regulations, maintaining food safety standards, and providing excellent customer service while interacting with patients regarding their dietary needs and preferences.

  • Prepare and assemble food according to established recipes and guidelines.
  • Monitor and document food temperatures as assigned.
  • Stock patient floor kitchenettes with bulk nourishment and supplies according to par levels.
  • Serve food to patients, employees, and guests using proper portion control and handling techniques.
  • Prepare assigned area by organizing necessary food and supplies for services.
  • Distribute food, bulk nourishment/snacks, and patient meal trays according to dietary procedures.
  • Keep trayline refrigerators stocked and replenished as needed.
  • Interact with patients to assist with menu selection based on dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Operate food service equipment safely and report malfunctions.
  • Collect and properly dispose of or recycle refuse.
  • Complete routine cleaning tasks using appropriate chemicals.
  • Operate dish machine and perform ware washing tasks.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1 year related experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Customer-oriented attitude
