Dietary Aide/Server - Part Time
About The Position
Emerald Heights, is a 5 star retirement community located in Redmond, Washington. We are dedicated to providing our residents the best senior living experience in the Puget Sound area and offer a full continuum of care from independent living to assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care. The Dietary Aide is responsible for meal service in our Health Center dining rooms. Dietary Aides will be assigned to service in any one of our dining areas, including our Skilled Nursing dining room, our Assisted Living dining room, or our Memory Care dining room, and will be expected to cross-train and learn how to serve in all three areas. We offer: 100% paid medical, dental and vision, employer paid life insurance and AD&D for employees working 30+ hours/week (Option to buy-up if desired). In addition, we offer a Flexible Spending account for medical and childcare reimbursements with a $500.00 rollover feature (No Rollover on childcare) AND the option to purchase Long Term disability insurance. Eligibility begins the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 403(B) plan (Eligibility on 403b – 20+ hours per week) – We match 50 cents for every dollar saved up to 10% of your annual salary. Matching begins the first of the quarter following 1 year of employment. Full-time employees are eligible to accrue up to 16 paid time off days, 6 paid holidays and 3 personal days. Pro-rated paid time off is available to part-time employees. Requirements
- Active Food Handler’s card or ability to obtain.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Courteous, gracious, tactful, and service-oriented.
- Genuine interest in working with older adults.
- Ability to work well with others; team-oriented.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Neat and professional in appearance, and willingness to maintain dress code.
- Available to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Regular, dependable, and reliable attendance.
- Excellent English communications skills, both verbal and written.
- All Emerald Heights employees must pass a criminal background check and other pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
- Provides residents and guests with exceptional customer service.
- Greets residents with warmth and respect.
- Takes resident and guest meal and drink orders, submits to kitchen and delivers in a timely manner.
- Prep and deliver hall trays for residents, as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of physician prescribed diets and menu items
- Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in the dining room, kitchen and work stations.
- Completes all assigned cleaning assignments and sanitation tasks.
- Monitors tables during meal service, responds to any resident needs or requests.
- Follows proper food handling techniques and standards of quality for all dining and work areas.
- Knowledgeable of therapeutic and textured modified diets.
- Complies with all in-service trainings and work related education.
- Willing to be trained with a POS system as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
