About The Position

Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. We have been serving residents of Edgar County since 1968 though community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. Position Summary: The Cook provides a variety of food preparation duties; cooking, cleaning, preparing cold foods, slicing meats, and preparing drinks plus any other duties assigned by Residential Director/Wellness Director.

Requirements

  • One or more years in food preparation experience, preferred.
  • Supports the Mission, Goals and Organizational Philosophy of Willowbrook.
  • Is knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
  • Interact with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment.
  • Confidentiality of all information, including resident, employee and operations.
  • Quality Assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Supports and participates in common teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality food preparation to residents/families/guests.
  • Essential Duties include baking, cooking, frying and other tasks associated in food preparation and serving.
  • Prepare a variety of foods according to the resident's food preferences noting food allergies and dislikes.
  • Follow designated and approved menus and recipes according to serving size and measurements.
  • Prepare various foods for cooking or serving.
  • Receive and store food supplies in refrigerators, freezer and other designated storage areas.
  • Keep food preparation area clean.
  • Load dishes, glasses and silverware into the dishwasher.
  • Maintain the front and back outside sitting areas by cleaning tables, sweeping porches and watering container plants, daily.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, neat, and clean environment; report environmental deficiencies to the Residence Director such as lighting or equipment problems.
  • Complete records documentation information in keeping with department policies.
  • Complete required monthly education.
