About The Position
Virginia Health Services is hiring Part Time, Dietary Aides for Coliseum Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a Long Term Care and Rehab Center located in Hampton, VA. The Dietary Aide assists the cook in preparing resident and employee meals under the supervision of the Dining Services Manager/designee. This role is essential in ensuring that meals are prepared and served in accordance with the dietary needs of residents and the facility's meal schedule. The Dietary Aide will be proficient in the use of the menu tray card system, assisting with the preparation and distribution of meals and snacks, while adhering to dietary orders and schedules. Additionally, the position involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area, including washing dishes and cleaning workspaces, tables, cabinets, carts, and ovens in accordance with infection control standards. The Dietary Aide is responsible for ensuring proper storage and handling of food, which includes knowledge of holding temperatures and temperature documentation. The role requires effective operation of kitchen appliances and compliance with established policies and procedures. A strong emphasis is placed on promoting positive customer service towards residents, family members, and co-workers. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
