About The Position

Mountain Youth Academy (a UHS company) is seeking a Dietary AIDE/ASST - PRN Position Located in Mountain City, TN Mountain Youth Academy is centrally located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 120-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent patients. Position Summary: Prepares and cooks meals for patients/employees of the facility by performing the following duties. The employee will be trained in Handle with Care (HWC) and CPR certified to assist in the supervision of patients as needed. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Previous experience as a Dietary Aide or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and dietary guidelines.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff and residents.
  • This role requires a successful background check, fingerprinting and employment verification

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines.
  • Ensure food safety standards are met during food handling and preparation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Collaborate with dietary staff to plan menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents.
  • Support the dietary department in inventory management and food ordering.
  • Provide excellent service during mealtimes, ensuring a positive dining experience for residents.
  • Assist with meal preparation tasks as needed.
  • Follow all health regulations and company policies regarding food service.
