About The Position

The Dietary Aide plays a vital role in ensuring our patients' nutritional requirements are taken care of and fed. This position involves taking patient meal orders, delivering carts to the correct floor or patient area, collecting trays, and placing garbage and trash in designated containers. The Dietary Aide is responsible for replenishing floor stock with food and nutrition items, assembling required portions for patient meals while ensuring high-quality food is served at appropriate temperatures, and assisting in the assembly of all flatware and kitchenware. Proper rotation during restocking floor stock is essential, as well as the setup, breakdown, and sanitation of all patient trayline equipment and serving areas. The role also includes performing computer-related activities as required and having knowledge of patient diets sufficient to serve patient meals accurately.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum Age: 18
  • Prior experience working in a hospital, commercial restaurant, or other food service operation preferred
  • Ability to accurately follow oral and written instructions in English
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions when using, disposing, and mixing chemicals
  • Presents self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect
  • Maintains a professional relationship with all coworkers, supervisors, managers, and all customers
  • Must comply with dress code requirements
  • Must be able to work weekdays, rotating weekends, and some holidays
  • Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Physical Requirements: Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 8 hours)
