The Diet Aide and Cook positions are essential roles within our nutritional services, ensuring that we provide high-quality food and maintain safety and sanitation standards in our kitchen and cafeteria environments.

Requirements

  • Good communication skills both departmentally and across NCH departments.
  • North Country Hospital and Morrison training and certificates.
  • High school equivalent, five years kitchen experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of patient trays and pick up of trays from the floors.
  • Take patients' food orders based on diets.
  • Keep up with work requirements, including pots, trays, and kitchen safety and sanitation.
  • Serve food in the cafeteria and keep it fully stocked for customers.
  • Support keeping the kitchen and any nutritional service area clean and stocked properly.
  • Complete required checklists.
  • Complete required training for the department, including hospital and Morrison training that supports Federal and State standards and practices.
  • Set up the kitchen for production.
  • Prepare foods for cafeteria and catering functions.
  • Prepare food for special patients' diets based on ADA requirements.
