About The Position
Knight Transportation is Hiring! We need a Diesel Trailer Mechanic to join our team in Salt Lake City. If you are hardworking and ready to make a difference, we want to hear from you! Location: 2519 South 5370 West, West Valley City, UT 84120 Pay: $24 - $38 hourly Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm (1 hr. lunch) Ready to take your skills to the next level? Requirements
- Experience driving tractor trailer preferred (equipment only driven on yard)
- Valid Drivers License
- Comprehensive background check
- Pre-Employment Hair Drug Screen (Marijuana is a disqualification of employment)
- High School or equivalent
- Experience with on-the-job training
- Possess customer service & computer skills
- Ability to read & understand repair manuals
- Ability to multitask & work as a team
- Must possess the tools required to accomplish the essential job results required
Nice To Haves
- Diploma in vehicle maintenance from vocational or trade school a plus
Responsibilities
- Repair heavy truck & trailer (semi-class 8)
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, HVAC, and Electrical diagnosing
- Perform minor to complex repairs for all types of equipment
- Perform Tire maintenance and repairs
- May be required to test drive equipment if CDL certified
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Maintain a positive & proactive work environment.
