About The Position

We are currently hiring an experienced Diesel Technician to join our growing Knoxville team.POSITION SUMMARY The Diesel Technician is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and full mechanical repairs on Class 1–Class 8 trucks and fleet equipment. This role requires strong independent troubleshooting ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to completing repairs correctly the first time.WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) and comprehensive fleet inspections Diagnose and repair engines (diesel & gas), electrical systems, HVAC, brakes, suspension, steering, and drivetrains Utilize OEM diagnostic software (Cummins, Detroit, PACCAR, Mitsubishi, etc.) Conduct road tests and ensure quality control standards are met Complete accurate documentation of repairs, diagnostics, and parts used Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment Communicate clearly with service advisors and management regarding repair findings This position operates with minimal micromanagement — we trust experienced technicians to manage their workflow professionally.

Requirements

  • Proven diesel technician experience (15+ years preferred for top-tier pay range)
  • ASE certifications highly valued and compensated
  • Strong diagnostic ability using laptops, OEM scan tools, and dealer-level software
  • Ability to perform full-spectrum mechanical repairs independently
  • Must supply personal hand tools
  • Valid driver’s license required (CDL is a plus, not required)
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods

  • ASE T-Series Certifications
  • OEM Training (Cummins, Detroit, PACCAR, etc.)
  • HVAC / 608-609 Certification
  • CDL (not required but valued)

Responsibilities
