About The Position

This position is responsible for routine maintenance, diagnostics and repair on all trucks/vehicles and related equipment. To succeed in this role, one should have a solid knowledge of basic mechanics tools, service, and diagnostic equipment, as well as strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and customer service skills, and be able to work independently or as a team member.

Requirements

Experience: 12 years of mechanical or equivalent experience.
Certifications: ASE certifications highly desired but not required.
Must pass pre-employment knowledge/skill test, background check (10-year), and drug/medical physical exam.
Proven mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
Ability to read and write in English for documentation and communication.
Must have own tools and safety gear (safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection).

Responsibilities

Conduct diagnostics and repairs on starting & charging systems, cooling, and re-charge, electrical and common fault codes.
Inspect, analyze, and diagnose trucks/vehicles and related equipment for mechanical issues, faulty and replacement parts.
Perform leak detection and repairs, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements and front & rear main engine seal replacements in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standard.
Perform routine maintenance and Federal inspections on trailers, trucks/vehicles, and related equipment.
Problem solve and document an action plan for all repairs and follow checklists and protocols while conducting repairs.
Ensure a safe, organized, and tidy workspace, including regularly cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
Follow all health and safety rules and guidelines, as well as common sense safety practices.
Ability to work independently, as well as support coworkers, able to work as part of team and work well with co-workers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
